Canyonlands - late Sep/Oct 2014
Hi
We're Brits (but live in France) hoping to do the small group tour to the Canyonlands to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary and Sandy's 60th birthday - would love to renew our vows overlooking the Grand Canyon - can this be done? Other questions include - what is the weather normally like at that time of year, is the area less crowded in comparison to other times, are meals taken as a group, what advice would you give to extend the trip in the USA eg. 3 days in San Francisco? Any tips would be much appreciated.

Can't help with the wedding vows question. Perhaps if you google the accommodation site listed for the date you have in mind.
Cheers,
Jan

Dinners on this trip are not taken as a group. The tour director will take your preference for dinner reservations , you can eat with friends or alone up to you. The weather in sept will still be warm probably 80's. As for the wedding vows. Really not sure about this. Maybe go to the Grand Canyon website. Hope this helps
Now I have another suggestion! Sounds quite crazy but always wanted for some reason to go to Vegas and renew my vows at an Elvis chapel, our 40th is this year. My mother loved Elvis and I thought it would be a really 'cheesy' and fun thing to do. Well would you believe it, friends of ours stole our idea a couple of years ago and actually got married in an Elvis chapel and asked us to 'stand up' for them as they say in the US-- be witnesses. It turned out to be great, the chapel was charming and the Elvis was a trained opera singer who had an amazing voice, we are all singers in a local comic opera group, so that really surprised us and our friends were almost disappointed that it was not cheesy at all but quite lovely and intimate with close family also there. Now if we were not using all our vacation time up doing two Tauck trips this year! For our fortieth we will be on a Tauck safari. So that Elvis thing gets shelved for another year!
