Full usage with a adapter for babyliss curler?

I cannot speak to your particular device, but I have used only an adapter to charge my camera battery and Kindle Fire. These both had 120/240 written on the charger. I have never used a converter and was told once that if it had both voltages then it would be safe to use.

    Hi CindyHamson,

I can't speak to your particular device either, but 230 volts is the standard current in Italy, and if your device is assured at 240 volts, you'll be fine. The only thing you'll want to be certain to have is an adapter so you can plug it in!

    I hope this helps!

According to the BaByliss website the Curl Secret is made and sold in the UK, so by that criteria is designed to work anywhere 220V (European standard) is available. It may work on 110V, also, but may not get as hot. There is no guarantee of that and it may affect the heat sensor or timer. (just the reverse is true, and bad things will happen if you try to operate a 110V appliance on 220V without a converter). The product page also has a "WARNING about counterfeits" link that takes you to an entire page of info, so please check it out. Three things jumped out at me: "- If you receive a product that has a non UK plug and has been supplied with a separate adaptor this is not a genuine product." and "- If the product is advertised as 'dual voltage', this is not a genuine product." and they also caution about websites selling all three versions (2 UK- Curl Secret and the Pro (trade) Version, one US version sold under the MiraCurl name).
  • Good grief! I'm so glad I don't need to use one of these gadgets! Who knew!

Not making light of anyone else's beauty regime! Heaven help me … I'd be the last to do that!

    Why is lie so complicated?
  • Good catch, AlanS! It's always good to bring an adapter with you when you travel, just in case.
