Looking for book recommendations on Australia and New Zealand. On previous trips, Tauck has recommended books to read prior to traveling. Didn't see a list for this trip.
Yes, there is a list, there is a link on the suggested reading to Longitude books as usual, about 26 recommendations in all. I read the first book years ago, the Bill Bryson one, it is very funny as are all his books. Maybe Jann might be able to suggest those that are worth a read.
Further to British's excellent suggestion written by the US writer & well-know Anglophile, Bill Bryson, I have a couple of other titles for you.
For Australian history, particularly the white annexation & settlement: The Fatal Shore, by Robert Hughes. (He was the art critic for Time Magazine for many years prior to his death.)
For a more contemporary Australian history: Australians: from flappers to Vietnam, by Thomas Keneally. (Author of Schlinder's List.)
A google search will reveal a plethora of Australian fiction and further non-fiction titles.
