Danube Reflections on Savor

Would like to talk with other guests who take this trip.
What cabins should I book. What is it like on the lower level?
I love the concept of the lofts.

  • Betts, I see no one ever responded so thought I'd add the little I know and maybe others who have been on this ship or cruise will chime in.

We did a 7 night cruise last year on the Swiss Emerald. We had a standard 150 sqft stateroom fairly far forward on the Ruby Deck. For a cruise of that length, the size was fine and we really liked the Ruby deck. Loved the feel of it when we were underway. Sort of like skimming the surface of the water. We also liked that we were close to the reception area. You spend so much time there heading out on tours, going to the lounge/restaurant, etc. Unless you want to walk half the length of the ship every time you need to go back to your cabin, I'd recommend being fairly far forward.

We're taking a 12 night cruise this year on the Inspire (same ship class as the Savor) and are opting for one of the Cat 4 cabins - the 1st two forward on the Ruby deck. Decided that we wanted a larger cabin for the longer cruise. Although most people spend little time in their cabin, it's nice to have 2 chairs to sit in and relax. Also to have a little more floor space.

Other than some toilet flushing sounds which are supposed to be fixed this winter while the ships are in dry dock, I've heard nothing but good about the loft cabins. There is a very good review of the MS Inspire done on its 1st Tauck cruise by cruisereport.com. I like their reviews as they are honest, but fair semi-professionals who do a good job of giving you a day to day feel for a cruise. I might take a pass on rm 101 right next to the Fitness ctr, but otherwise they sound like a nice option.

    Hope this helps.
