Per my current Tauck trip book smoking is only permitted on the Sun deck aft of the wheel house. It is also not permitted on motorcoaches used for sightseeing.
If you look on the webpage for this cruise under "Before You Go", "Health and Fitness" here is a quote,
"On board the riverboat, smoking is permitted in a limited area of the Sun deck. Smoking is not permitted in any cabin, the restaurant, the lounge or any other interior space."

As I recall from last summer, it is only allowed well aft of the wheel house as in at the stern. Most of the public space on the Sun Deck is aft of the wheel house and they want to ensure that those who don't want to share the smoke are forward of the smokers.
