Classic Kenya and Tanzania Tour - Day 13

Hi,

We will be heading to Zanzibar after the tour and are trying to decide whether to fly out on the last day of the tour in the evening (1905pm flight) or leave the following day. We've been advised by Tauck not to book any flights departing before 1900. We can't seem to get any further detail from them as to what happens on Day 13. Does anyone know if there are activities planned after returning to Nairobi? We would hate to miss out but if there is nothing planned we don't want to waste the day sitting at the Nairobi Serena Hotel as we are not flying home.

We don't leave for another month or so, but here's what the final documents say for Day 13:

A short air journey brings you to Nairobi and the Nairobi Serena Hotel, where a day room has been reserved for you.

Transfer directly to your hotel where you will have time to relax, repack, and unwind after your magical journey.

Complimentary transportation to Jomo Kenyata International Airport is provided from your Tauck hotel.

Nothing "big" happens on that day, but it is a day to reunite with your luggage and repack in preparation for the trip home, or, in your case, for an extension of the trip. It is a very welcomed day in a luxury hotel. Look at it as a day to "decompress." We enjoyed the showers, and the soft beds and the chance to reorganize. If you are continuing the adventure, you might welcome the time, at Tauck's expense, to prepare for the next part of your adventure.

The day room at the Serena hotel in Nairobi was welcoming -- delicious lunch, shower, TV, wifi, dinner and a chance to re-organize for the long trip home. We had a delicious buffet lunch and "menu" dinner and the time went quickly. We left the hotel at 7:00 PM for our midnight flight. Our tour director advised us not to roam around Nairobi.
