Port time - Iceland - land of fire and ice

I have read some reviews lately on other travel sites that there is not enough time spent in port on excursions on this tour of Iceland. I would like any specific information about time in ports and at sites of interest.

Is this a cruise around Iceland that is spent mostly on board ship?

    I haven't been on this trip, but I'll pass along a few things I've heard-

    There aren't adequate accommodations (none in some ports) so you must go back to the ship each night.

    The quaint fishing villages you visit are small and it doesn't take long to see them. Even if you travel inland, you'll still return to the ship to eat and sleep.

    There are activities on the ship too.
