ONE AND ONLY CAPE TOWN
You certainly get the Wow factor when you enter your room and bathroom at the One and Only. But if you asked me to chose between this hotel and the Cape Grace that we stayed in on the Elegant Safari, the Cape Grace wins hands down. The One amd Only Bathrooms look great, but the practicality and design were a real let down. The glass countertop sinks have the taps so near to the back of the sink that they splash amd water goes over the back. You can't put a shower mat directly outside the shower because the door is too close to the floor. Another man in our group had us all laughing about his experience having a bath amd not being able to keep the plug closed because it is right in the middle of the bath so it is almost Impossible to not sit on it or touch it with your leg and it opens up and the water drains. I tried a bath, and he is correct, hilarious! The taps on the bath are also set too near the edge and water splashed over the sides.
The hotel lacks any ambience. The service is so so. We visited the Cape Grace for lunch on our last day. It was like walking into a haven, fabulous meal, wonderful service, elegant surroundings, just as we remembered it from our past stay, Tauck, change to this hotel please.
The One and Only had only one multi country electric outlet too, very disappointing for a newish hotel
