I don’t know…the new ship targeted for the Rhône River will hold 130 guests. Is an increase in the number of guests such a good idea? I don’t think so.
I had some trepidation about taking my first river cruise because I was concerned about the number of people. It was on the ms Grace which has a capacity to hold 130 guests and if my memory is correct, I believe we had very close to that amount. I was surprised how comfortable it was with that many passengers. I never felt crowded and the excursions were perfectly orchestrated and staggered. I was on the Grace a second time and had the same experience.
When we traveled on MS Grace there were 110 passengers, and it never felt crowded. We have booked a Rhone River cruise for 2026 on the new Lumiere and are looking forward to it.

For reference, the same size ships on Viking would have 190 guests vs 130 for Tauck.
