Website issues for the 2026 versions of this tour

It appears that the routing for this tour is being changed.

For 2025 tours the routing is in a clockwise direction, heading south from Versailles and then traveling clockwise until the return to Paris at the end of the tour.

For 2026 tours, at least per the itinerary it looks like from Versailles you head north and then west traveling in a counter-clockwise direction before the return to Paris at the end of the tour.

For the 2026 tours, the hotel list is messed up as well. It shows staying at the Hotel Le Normandy Barriere Deauville on days 2&3, and then again on days 8&9. For 2025 tours you do stay there on days 8&9, but for 2026 tours if they truly are changing the routing direction then on days 8 & 9 you should be staying at Chateau de Rochecotte.

I sent a Contact Us message to Tauck to point out these inconsistencies.

Hopefully they can get this corrected soon.

Comments

  • Tauck was updating their site. Perhaps they are not quite done. Conjecture on my part.

  • Perhaps, but not likely in my opinion. Making something live (such that users can see it) before an update is complete would be an error in itself.

  • By no means the first time the website has been incorrect. When I have pointed it out via email in the past, it eventually gets sorted.

  • We received the hard copy of the brochure this past week. The hotels are shown correctly. However, the map does not incorporate the changes.

We were on this tour in May and were told that it was being reconfigured. I think it is primarily due to the unavailability of the Bayeux tapestry beginning in September and lasting through 2027. Three other visits have been eliminated - the Museum in Caen, the Resistance Museum in Brittany and the visit to Chartres. While this is disappointing, the tour now includes a visit to Honfleur and a presentation by a local historian about WWII in Normandy.

Some will be disappointed about what haas been eliminated while others will prefer the new itinerary. This is a good trip. You will never see everything in two weeks. Enjoy what is offered and remember that you can always return to see more.

  • I like your positivity, Kathy M. We choose itineraries based on the region, not one or two particular sites. If things do change—through no fault of Tauck—we “go with the flow” and embrace the adventure. We have never been disappointed the few times itineraries have changed.

  • Kathy M - In the 2026 itinerary they show seeing an Apocalypse Tapestry in the Loire Valley. Hopefully Tauck will correct the website soon so we can actually see what the 2026 tours will be.

  • The trip this year visited two tapestries. The Apocalypse Tapestry is in the Loire Valley in the Chateau of Angers. This was quite impressive and will continue to be on the trip next year. The one that will no longer be available is the Bayeux Tapestry. The museum where it is located will be closed beginning in September for a two year renovation.

  • Tauck as fixed some of the issues for the 2026 tours website for this tour.

The Overnight Accommodations list is now correct, but the Map view still is incorrect. When you have Map View displayed and then click on the various itinerary days the Map View is supposed indicate where on the map you will be. It still moves per the 2025 routing. As a example when you click on Day 3 for 2026 you're supposed to be in the Honfleur area per the itinerary wording, but per the Map View it thinks you are in the Loire Valley on Day 3 (which is the case for 2025 tours).

Small steps. Hopefully they get it all corrected at some point. 😀
