London, Paris, and Seine river cruise clothing
Hi all! Going on our 1st Tauck tour to London, Paris, and Seine river cruise August 1st & so excited! Question re. Clothing - are denim (or other) shorts ok for daytime? I have a few casual dresses and a pair of khaki crop pants. I’m just worried it will be super hot and even crop pants will be too heavy/hot. But I get the feeling shorts are too casual. Any guidance is much appreciated! Thank you!! PS- anyone else here going on same trip??

Shorts are fine for daytime touring; given the heat, you want to be cool and comfortable. Gauze and linen would be ideal. No shorts in the ship’s dining room, however.
It is a wonderful trip. Enjoy!
Be aware if there are any church visits, shorts may not be appropriate. Comfortable shoes are a must. If you wear capris they can transition to the evening if you don’t have time to change before dinner. Take an umbrella and be prepared for crowds. Have a great time!
No planned visits to places of worship on this itinerary (unless changed). I agree with the shoes—sturdy with good traction.
I see no need for an umbrella. The Savoy has loaners and you will find an umbrella in your cabin aboard the ship. Save room in your luggage for souvenirs!
I carry a small lightweight umbrella that fits in my small bag. I don’t want to be stuck with a large umbrella walking around.
I agree with British, I always carry a small umbrella, those from the hotels or ship are too cumbersome to carry.
I prefer to use the hood of my light-weight rain jacket rather than an umbrella. I do agree the large ones are cumbersome but have seen some people use them as added support on uneven walkways and stairs.
