Ponant video
I wanted to mention about the videos that Ponant sell to people on the ships of the actual tour you have been on. We have never been tempted to buy one, mainly because they are expensive. The one for this tour was 124 Euros.
Anyway, on the last day, we were given one free. We just watched it. It was two USB drives. The USB would not fit our TV or DVD box, so we had to watch it on our computer. One was a half hour video that we just watched. We haven’t checked the photo one yet. It was very poor and to make things worse, most of the footage was of the tour choices we had not made.
My advice is, only get one if you are really really convinced it’s going to be what you expect.

British, USB drives can carry viruses. You should check your computer.
Really, on a Tauck /Ponant official gift? I’ll talk to my husband about that.
I received a cruise video from Silversea for the Galapagos part of a Tauck tour, and one of our Silversea Antarctic tour. Both were professionally done (and free). I was briefly in the Antarctic one, maybe 3 seconds.
I was really impressed that someone on the ship went through all the video shot (by the staff) and put together a video with a music track and interesting transitions. I've done some video and it's not easy or quick to do that.
One of the videos – I think it was the Antarctic one – was in a format that would only work on an Apple computer. I contacted Silversea and suggested that they use a standard format, such as MP3, for their videos so that anyone could view them. They agreed and said they would instruct the video person on their ships to use standards.
I have the software to convert video formats so I was able to view the finished product, but I would think that many of the other guests would not be able to view it if they did not live in the Apple ecosystem.
I put both at the end of our blog of those trips.
If you want to see the videos that the ship produced, here they are. The Antarctic one, in my opinion, is very good.
