Alaska and the Yukon
My son and I booked Tauck's new Alaska and The Yukon trip for May 2026.. I have only been on one other cruise with Tauck and that was a Silver Sea ship. Tauck is using Holland America for this trip and I have questions! Do I need to buy a wifi package and the drink package or is that included with Tauck? New to all of this so I appreciate your time, thanks.

They should be included. When we went to Alaska with Tauck, it was a Land and Sea and they used a Princess Cruise ship. WiFi is included on all Tauck tours. On our tour instead of included alcohol you were given a credit of $250 instead which could be used for alcohol or anything else, like in the cruise ship shop.
The ship was for over 3000 people but was only about half full because it was after Covid but still during testing times. We had never been on a big ship and we hated it. In addition so many people got Covid and had to be prevented from getting on the ship from the land or had to quarantine in Vancouver. The itinerary eliminates some of the ports, so we were on the ship for over 48hrs without a tour too. I also think May will be quite cool, maybe even snow.
This was just our experience and obviously it’s not the same tour or cruise line. It’s the only Tauck tour we felt we had wasted our money of the many Tauck tours we have taken. If you have been on big cruise ships and enjoy it. You will be fine. But certainly we learned our lesson.
My husband and I visited Alaska in May many years ago. While cool, it was pleasant and we had many clear, sunny days. The May weather was better than the weather we had for a subsequent trip we took in late July.
