I think I agree with Alan. I was told that they considered Iceland as a place to train the astronauts for lunar landings, as most of it resembles the surface of the moon. I have actually been there many times because the airport in the past was a U.S. Naval Air Station. But, I’ve only been there once as a tourist. That visit satisfied my curiosity. I have flown over Greenland many times, and on a clear sunny day it is quite beautiful … from the air. On a military flight one day I dropped down for a close look at the icebergs and fjords. It is not on my tourist list.
