Face covering on safari

Do we need to have face covering to keep out dirt and dust from our nose and mouth during safari in Sabi Sabi and Krueger?

  • I was in Krueger and certainly did not need a mouth and nose covering. It's not a desert, there's lots of foliage and trees. I never noticed dust, although I suppose if your jeep was following another jeep there could be road dust.

  • The best thing to take is a neck ‘buff’ that you can wear round your neck and easily pull up over your nose and mouth if a situation occurs. We wear them for many of our adventurous tours. They are also good for neck protection from sun and mosquitos. And if you have a big camera or cell phone lanyard and binoculars around your neck as we do on safaris, they cushion those from rubbing or irritating your neck.

  • No face covering needed. Enjoy the animals and beautiful sunrises/sunsets!

  • I would also recommend a neck buff (no question). Do you really want to inhale dust when the Range Rover is driving fast on the dirt roads.

  • Nine times on safari vacations….you never know when dust or even mud can hit in your face. .Better be safe than sorry.

  • Buff.com.
The choices are from here to eternity.
