I was in Krueger and certainly did not need a mouth and nose covering. It's not a desert, there's lots of foliage and trees. I never noticed dust, although I suppose if your jeep was following another jeep there could be road dust.
The best thing to take is a neck ‘buff’ that you can wear round your neck and easily pull up over your nose and mouth if a situation occurs. We wear them for many of our adventurous tours. They are also good for neck protection from sun and mosquitos. And if you have a big camera or cell phone lanyard and binoculars around your neck as we do on safaris, they cushion those from rubbing or irritating your neck.
No face covering needed. Enjoy the animals and beautiful sunrises/sunsets!
I would also recommend a neck buff (no question). Do you really want to inhale dust when the Range Rover is driving fast on the dirt roads.
Nine times on safari vacations….you never know when dust or even mud can hit in your face. .Better be safe than sorry.

The choices are from here to eternity.
