Waterproof Sneakers for Scotland?

Will be traveling to Scotland end of July. Should I be more concerned about comfortable sneakers or waterproof sneakers?

Comments

  • Waterproof is always good for Scotland

  • I have Hoya Transports that have the GoreTex system and nice traction on the soles. I used them in Scotland 2 years ago but luckily didn’t see too much rain.

  • I was in Scotland this past July. My comfortable sneakers were just fine.

  • If possible both. The last tour we made to Scotland I wore waterproof leather Dansko's sneakers that were both very comfortable and waterproof - plus I got them on sale. Although the waterproof part turned out to be unnecessary because we never had any rain to deal with. Weather is always a gamble.

  • Comfortable-waterproof sneakers. They're out there!

I have waterproof Merrell walking shoes that are very comfortable. I wear them as my regular walking/workout footwear.

  • For those who prefer a non-sneaker look, you might look at LL Bean’s waterproof shoes. There is one style that I wear for touring and sloshing through puddles. The soles are sturdy and offer excellent traction.

  • I wear Meindl because of wide fit options. My wife wears waterproof ON shoes.

  • Love my waterproof Merrells that got me through three weeks in Ireland nice and dry. ☘️

  • I used to always pack my waterproof Merrell Moab hiking shoes, but that are heavy with the Vibram sole. When I don't need that, I turn to my Brooks Ghost running shoe I use as an all around sneaker which comes in a waterproof version made with Goretex..

All perfect, comfortable, and waterproof brands/selections! I wear them on the plane so my airline carry-on rollerboard stays light!
