Timeshifter app

Has anyone tried the Timeshifter app from U.S. to Australia?

  • I have not, but I’d be interested in hearing experiences as well. On my recent return trip from the Singapore/Bali tour I had my first bad experience recovering from jet lag. I ended up using melatonin, which got my body clock back on Tucson time.

  • We previously used for Europe with success - but a much shorter journey! We will be using again in February (to Fiji) and March (returning from Darwin). I have already input our various flights, which includes New Zealand in the middle. We only have to time shift prior to Fiji and before leaving Darwin. I will let you know how it goes! The first trip is free, so at a minimum, load the app and see if you think it is doable for you. I do not use the melatonin portion - just the caffeine and light/dark/bedtime suggestions.

  • The easiest thing to do is be out in bright light early morning when you get there and resist naps.

I know nothing about this “app”; I just know what helps me mitigate jet lag which I usually do not suffer from.

I just try to adjust my sleep/wake patterns before the trip, stay hydrated and read during the flight until the attendants dim the cabin and avoid alcohol (I usually don’t follow my own advice on this one.)

And, yes, getting some fresh air upon arrival, if possible, is advantageous. Whatever works for you is all that matters.
