Hiking Poles ? And half day vs full day sled dog in Jackson hole ?
Hello. We are going on this Yellowstone trip in a few weeks (finally, yay!). Are hiking poles worthwhile to take ?
Also, we are booked for a half day of the Iditarod sled dogs in Jackson hole. Would we be wise to try to change it to a full day ?
Thanks to everyone.

Forget the hiking poles! You don't really do much hiking, you'll be given ski poles if you do the snowshoeing.
Do the full day dog sled trip. If it is like what we did, the full day dogsled trek was worth it. We went with Jackson Hole Iditarod Dogsled tours. They picked us up at the hotel and took us to the start of Granite Creek about 30 miles south. We met our drivers (not mushers!!) and dogs, and were briefed about the sleds and dogs. Our sleds (4 people, one driver, two sleds, one team) traveled along the creek on a well packed forest trail/road (Granite Creek Road) up to the Granite Hot Springs pool originally built by the CCC. We had a hot lunch of chili, cornbread, hot chocolate, etc. then went for a swim/soak (heated (???
) changing rooms. Our own suits and towels), before heading back. It was the highlight of our tour.
Thanks very much Alan !
