VPN Necessary for Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand trip?

Is it necessary to add a VPN to my iphone for the Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand trip? I plan to only use my phone where there is wifi. Is that a mistake?

    While it's not necessary for functionality, as it is in China (where the Great Firewall of China blocks all Google services, including gmail), I always use a VPN when travelling. Many hotel wifi networks, and airports, are open, therefore unencrypted. There are also networks that look "real" especially at airports, but exist so scammers can collect personal data A VPN is cheap insurance.

    It's certainly not necessary but you can do it if you want. I did not use a VPN while on that trip.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph.
