You might consider heavyweight tights under what you normally wear. It’s the wind that can make it brutally cold. Hats, scarves, warm socks and gloves, too. Don’t forget a good moisturizer and lip balm.
We just bought insulated water resistant pants at Costco by Eddie Bauer. We went on this trip with another company and it's worth every penny. Yes, on the sunscreen for lips.
Hi! We’re going on the Mar 22 trip. Really excited. We live in South FL so we bought a number of the pants & gloves etc on the Necessary Gear site. Want to be dry and warm enough on the excursions.
Necessary gear is so expensive! If you won’t be wearing that stuff again, there are much better reasonable options.
We shopped sporting goods stores and REI and found the Necessary Gear stuff to be less expensive. We only got the pants and gloves. Compared to the price of the tour it was a drop in the bucket. And we may use that stuff again going to a ski area with the family. We don’t ski but we’ll be warm.
