We are doing this cruise in April also. We've been taking Tauck River cruises since 2013 and they have become MUCH MORE CASUAL over the years. Dinners are kind of resort casual. No shorts, no sneakers, no jeans (although last yr on our Seine River Cruise, we did see lots of sneakers and jeans in the dining room - so even that seems to be changing). We will get more details about the dress about 45-60 days before we leave. I wear pants and blouses, sometimes a scarf. Husband wears pants and button up or golf style shirt. The Captains/Gala night is slightly dressier, we saw no ties and only a few sports coats on the Seine last year. This cruise does have a dinner at a palace which are also a little dressier - you may see some skirts, more sport coats, a few ties. All this will be in our paperwork. We are extending and will be gone almost 3 weeks, so we will pack practically for trains, etc. We will be dressed nicely, but I'm not taking a dress and my husband may take a tie, but maybe not a sport coat due to weight/bulk. I will say that last yr on the Seine, this same time of yr, it was much cooler than we anticipated - so be prepared for that.

On our most recent tour last month, where we stayed in very nice hotels, I was surprised to notice most people did not change for dinner, even when there was plenty of time to do so. This meant that mostly, they were wearing what I would describe as athletic wear, what I might wear to the gym, and mostly black in color. It really didn’t matter.
I was talking to one couple who were on their first Tauck tour, they were well traveled and owned homes in two of the most expensive areas in the US, They said they ignored the Tauck dress code and were wearing what was sensible and comfortable. There were two men who wore jackets at the welcome dinner, one of them actually said he felt foolish for bothering to bring his jacket. He had toured with Tauck some years before but this was the first tour in a while. He said this sure had changed what he first experienced touring with Tauck. I don’t think I noticed jackets again.
To be honest, by the end of the tour, when you know everyone, you never notice what they are wearing but instead just enjoy their company….unless they appear in something that really stands out, either because it’s fabulous or awful. And that really comes down to your own personal opinion of things.
Do what is comfortable for you, certainly don’t rush out and buy things for a tour that you might never wear again.
Tauck requests that guests do not wear jeans, sneakers, shorts and rubber sandals in the dining room. My experience has been that most guests comply with this.
Usually the “gala” events, especially those off the ship, are held in elegant surroundings. Some people are more focused on dictating what you shouldn’t wear than what is really appropriate to wear given the venue. I can only tell you what our preferences have been—suit jacket, with or without a tie, for my husband; simple, accessorized dress or tailored slacks with a short-waisted jacket for me.
Every tour has a Packing Recommendation list. To find it, go to the Tauck website page for your tour and scroll down towards the bottom. It will give recommendations and whether a sport coat/tie are optional.
The last few cruises we've done the only dress up nights were either an off ship venue (the dinner at the Hague for your cruise) or on board the Chefs special dinner. Otherwise, it's pretty casual. Most days I dress in slacks and a nice top so the only thing I change is my shoes. If you really prefer to go very casual (like athleisure casual) you can always eat in the casual dining space Arthur's.
You don't need a different outfit everyday. As long as they're clean, nobody cares if you wear the same thing multiple times. I doubt they even notice.
