Barcelona hotels
Trying to choose between the 2 hotels Tauck uses in Barcelona-The One Barcelona and Hotel Majestic, for a 3-4 day pre cruise stay. I’d appreciate any thoughts on them if you stayed at one or even both.

I think that if you want to have Tauck meet you at the airport, you have to be staying at the Tauck hotel for that tour. Same at the end. We stayed in Venice after a Tauck tour and were told that if we moved hotels, we would forfeit the Tauck paid trip back to the airport. We stayed at the Tauck hotel and they took us to the airport, even though it was several days after the tour ended.
[If you choose not to stay at the Tauck hotel, there are some very decent lower cost hotels in Barcelona. We stayed at the "Casa Camper" just off Las Ramblas and it was very nice.]

The One is a wonderful festive hotel with killer view of La Familia and rambunctious pool parties.Beautiful people at the lobby. Feels like the W in Beverly Hills.
That hotel is definitely not for the Tauck crowd.
I think CaroP is probably talking about two hotel choices that Tauck uses before a cruise. Not everyone on the boat can stay in the same hotel, that’s too many people. So they give you a choices of hotels. Once full, you don’t have a choice and will have to go in the one that has spaces. Sometimes there is an up charge for one of the hotels. We have had this experience on a couple of cruises with Tauck. I suggest looking to see which of the hotels might be nearer to any sites you want to see before the tour. If I’m correct, make your mind up quickly before there is no choice.
And just who is the Tauck crowd?

Mike, that is odd. I am staying at an Airbnb after French Escapade (Grand Prix-hotels all booked or too expensive) and Tauck is taking me to the airport.
Maybe they changed their policy. It was several years ago that we were in Venice. It'd be nice if they did. The Tauck hotels are always expensive if you are paying.
It is typically not a Tauck decision. It depends on the particular contracted transportation company and their contract. Transportation to/from the airport and a non-Tauck hotel is not guaranteed unless the Before You Go or Tauck HQ says so.
On our Amsterdam to Budapest cruise in 2024. Tauck provided transportation to our not Tauck hotel but we had to find our way to the ship. At the other end, we were staying at the Tauck hotel and they provided transportation to the hotel and then to the airport.
However, our traveling buddies were not staying at the Tauck hotel and they were given a choice of Tauck providing transportation to their hotel or to the airport.
In April of this year we are going on the London, Paris, Seine tour and have extended in Paris but not staying at the Tauck hotel. We were given a choice between Tauck taking us to the hotel from the ship or from the hotel to the airport.
They seem pretty consistant on all this.
