Australia Air Travel

We are considering the Australia tour in 2027.
Does anyone know how strict they are regarding carry-on baggage on the Tauck flights? On the Tauck site it states the bags allowed are quite small! Any help is appreciated.

  • There are luggage restrictions for the charter flights: Small rolling carry-ons must be checked with the main luggage and stored in the aircraft's cargo hold. Luggage exceeding these limits may be prohibited from charter flights and transported overland at your expense. Due to long distances and remote locations, delayed arrival of overland luggage by one or more days is possible.

  • Tauck uses private charter, not need to even go through security but luggage size is strict. It’s awesome!

  • We just returneed from this trip. The private plane overhead bin is small and does not accomodate a roll aboard. It is not a matter of being "strict" but rather what is possible. Your roll aboard or larger bag can be put underneath as you board the plane

  • We took this trip in Oct 2025. We were a small group and since many of us had our own rows on the charter planes and there were empty rows, some who brought wheeled carryons were able to bring them into the plane. Most, however, chose to store under the plane.

  • Carrying them up and down the steps of the aircraft................................
