Concern re our upcoming trip in early May - what happens if jet fuel really does run out in the EU ?

  • Thank you, Alan. We do have the Tauck insurance. We have no control over this and many people are suffering MUCH more.

  • I don't think I'd be worried so much about flights to and from major hubs - Boston, DC, NY to London/Paris, etc...it seems its the smaller, less profitable segments that they are canceling.

  • I’m concerned that if people are canceling flights to Europe, flights from the US will be reduced. I bet if you try to call Tauck in the next few days you will be on long holds as people call to cancel, change or delay vacations.

  • I'm still trying to cling to my dwindling hope that we will be able to go to Europe. I believe that Tauck still gives 100% back for cancelling land tours. However, if you are doing a riverboat cruise like we are, then there is a percentage only given back, depending on dates of the trip and cancellation. With less than 60 days before the start of a tour you get back just 50% of the trip. So, you might want to check with Tauck about the various dates and keep that in mind when making a decision. The paid insurance for a riverboat cruise is also lost as you can't apply it to another trip.
