2028 Tours

edited 2:54PM in General Discussion

A while back - it was late July or early August - several weeks at least - I received an email that said 2028 Tours were ready and, when I look at the various tours, it seems like only the River Cruises have 2028 days AND costs available. (…I'm wondering how many people are going to jump into summer river cruises after this summer.) There are a few other tours that have dates you can select - but still no costs associated with the tour. I like to book early so I make sure I can get the dates I want and I could have sworn I used to be able to book 18-24 months out with dates and prices available - am I not remembering this correctly?

We would usually book 2027 trips in the winter of 2026 (Jan-Feb) and the dates are available but the pricing almost never is. Of course they add extra departures as people book trips and we have never had any problems if we wanted to change the date a week or so if a new trip opened up.

I’m not completely answering your question- but I booked a 2028 tour without pricing. I was told they’d contact me when pricing was available and I could make the final decision then if I wanted to book. I still had to pay the deposit and will get a full refund if I decide not to go forward with the trip.

Frank - I tend to travel as a single and they only hold a few slots for singles so they book up really fast - I have missed out on a number of my prime dates if I don’t book at least 18 months out. And from my experience they’ve always had prices 12-18 months out and I think more than that in the past.

Travel - yes - I booked one with no pricing as well but they had the dates available. I think the majority of 2028’s aside from river cruises don’t even have dates out.

P.S. I think part of my frustration is that they sent out an email saying they were ready and, clearly, they are not.

JaneP - I noticed that some tours don't even show 2028 as an option, so I'm not sure if they are reworking them or not running them…..I thought that was interesting.

Kathy - I noticed that as well. I'm hoping that they are not putting so much effort into Roam and this new program with older children/young adults, that British mentioned, that they are letting the main tours flounder…I've already booked one 2028 trip with another company that had dates and prices - and gave an early booking discount (which I've never seen Tauck do)…Tauck is going to lose out, at least with people like me who like to book early, if they take much longer, IMHO.

we have booked Tauck tours almost two years ahead in the past. Sometimes we had as many as six tours scheduled ahead.
Not so anymore, only one tour which is a back to back one for 2026. We tend to book tours with other companies these days now we are more experienced about what we want to see in a country and Tauck does not do it. We have not abandoned Tauck but look and compare with other companies first.

JaneP - I have December and January booked w/Tauck and a November 2027 non-Tauck trip. I was looking at 2028 options, and some didn't have 2028 showing which surprised me. I don't have any idea of where I want to go in 2028 yet so it's not that urgent, but I'm solo, too, and know to book early if I figure out exactly where I wanted to go.
