If you are talking about regular blue jeans, then I think it is going to be too warm for them, the temperatures are more likely to be in the seventies. Denim can be quite heavy too, I think there could be better choices for all kinds of reasons in September, especially early in the month.
I don't think you need to wear dresses in the restaurants, nice separates are acceptable.
I went early September a few years ago and was hot. I wore capri mostly to have my knees covered for churches. You need knees and shoulders covered. I did wear some dresses, because they were cooler than pants and shirt.
