Grand Teton Park Closure

Has anyone heard about the recent closure of a portion of Grand Teton Nat'l park to due increasing fissure activity. Apparently thids was an emergency closure by the park service. I Don't know if it affects the American Safari tour leaving Friday. Any news anyone has will be helpful. I plan on calling Tauck to see later today.

This is an article I just read due to your post and there are plenty more. It’s in the British Daily Mail but has some nice maps and explanations. We are going on the Tauck Mythic West Tour in September that includes this area, we have been before and the Tetons and Jackson Hole was the reason for a return visit.

To those interested, there is only a small area of the Park closed. Due to fissure activity and the risk of rock falling the park closed the hiking trail to Inspiration Point and Hidden Falls. This is a small area on the west side of Jenny lake. Just returned and it is a GREAT trip!
