We haven't taken this specific tour but our first of four Tauck cruises was one very similar to Savoring France with many of the same stops. Loved it so much in part because several of the stops like Avignon, Arles, etc the ship docks right in the main tourist area so it's easy when there's free time to explore on your own. I will say that of the rivers we've been on (Rhone, Rhine, Danube, Seine, and Moselle) the Rhone is probably the least scenic. Wasn't a big deal since we almost always cruised in the evening or overnight. Our only regret was not giving ourselves more time at the bottom Paris.
We also did Savoring France a few years ago. It was a wonderful trip. Beautiful small towns and worth every penny. Be sure to spend a few extra days in Paris.
We are scheduled to take the June trip. Wondering if anyone else is thinking about cancelling due to the virus outbreak in Europe. We have until March 9 to pay in full. Even with the travel insurance, cancellations on Cruises are costly to the traveler. Called Tauck today and asked specific questions regarding the travel insurance and how the exclusions work. We were told to call AON Insurance for specifics. We will do that tomorrow. Our concern is that the decision many not be a refund of credit, and we would lose the entire cost of the trip. There is a statement at the end of the policy that reads: "In the event of an unforeseen circumstance beyond our control, Tauck reserves the right to amend the cancellation and transfer terms outlined herein." Does this mean they can decide to refund, credit OR keep the entire amount?
