Canada seems unlikely in 2021

edited May 2021 in Canada

I read an article on the Canadian Broadcasting Company website about the possibilities of the border reopening. They are saying late summer at the earliest, but fall is more likely. Given that the two countries haven't even started talking about reopening, I think that it is unlikely the Canada trips will go this year (I had a trip scheduled for September). Given that Tauck cancels trips at least 60 days before their start date, I just don't see them happening this year. I never thought Canada would open up this year, they canceled all cruise ship stop months ago. Look at Australia, it’s forecast they will not open up until mid 2022

One (slightly) positive thing WRT Canada is that you can transit through an airport there right now. Important for us, assuming that our December (non-Tauck) Antarctica expedition runs, since the best air arrangements we could make from Washington DC to BA includes flying through Toronto outbound and Montreal inbound. Info was here: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/visit-canada/transit.html
