I have debated on taking this tour in either June or September. Which month do you recommend and why?

I'd go in June as Tucson is very hot then. Plus our golf course closes for a month in October, so like to be here in September for golf.
Neither. Southern Europe is very hot and humid during summer. I'd go in Spring or Fall.
I went late September, and the weather was perfect.
We went last September 2021 and the weather was hot but not unbearable.
I was there several years ago - beginning of September. Croatia was hot as was Venice.
We were there in early June a few years ago. The weather was warm but still OK for touring. The only place we felt really hot was when we walked the walls in Dubrovnik. Go early in the morning and you should minimize the heat.
