I'm surprised so many markets are open after Christmas. Perhaps it's due to the loss of business during the pandemic. I remember folks in Rothenburg several years ago suggesting they might hold the market open a few days longer after a break for Christmas Day. Perhaps this will be the new normal!

I just hope hot and steamy refers to the gluhwine and not the crowds possibly infected with the Omicron variants of COVID 
AlanS, I think the Covid will be with us forever and in a variety of variants as well. At least, that is, until the next new bug (natural or laboratory grown) replaces it on the front pages or the six o-clock news. And you're right, sadly they did skip the Rhine.
