Travel from Kyoto Station on 25 March 2025 to Narita Airport

Hi:
We are booked on this tour. Our Flight is at 6:55 PM from Narita Airport back home on 25 March 2025.

Tour ends in Kyoto after breakfast 25 March 2025. Anyone have suggestions from Kyoto RR station to get to Narita. We want to take the bullet train and I think we then have to take another train from the RR Station in Tokyo to Narita Airport.
Thanks for some input/suggestions and how to book those tickets on line.

  • Chuck - just a suggestion. There are bots that harvest email addresses. Then the people involved in those bots sell the list of email addresses to people who send spam. While you can't ever completely stop it, I would not post my email address in a forum.

  • Another suggestion - this has been discussed many times recently under this trip heading. Do a search and ye shall find.

  • Thanks for your comments. Well taken.

  • We're taking the Bullet Train from Kyoto station to Tokyo station (2 hours) then the Bullet Train from Tokyo to Narita (1 hour). Our flight back to the US is at 5 pm. I was going to book it from here (a month ahead is what they say you can do) but now I'm just going to buy it when I get to Japan. There are a few ways to purchase online including Rail Ninja. The "official" Japan rail website is tough to navigate but others recommended Rail Ninja on a FB page I'm on about travel.

  • We just flew from Kyoto to Narita to Boston and it was very easy.

  • Debi, I absolutely do not want to take any trains on my return trip to the US. So will Tauck transfer me directly, by car, from the hotel in Kyoto to an airport? Which one?

  • We returned from Kitsani in Osaka. There are 2 airports in Osaka. It was a 90 min drive to there from Four Seasons in an immaculate, AC, minivan. When we got to the airport a women in uniform holding a Tauck sign was waiting for us. She escorted us to our baggage checkin lines and waited until we were done. After that she escorted us to security and waited until we entered the secure area. No stress wondering where to go in the airport terminal. On another note do use the visit Japan web site and print, or save that QR code to enter the country. Tauck sent us exactly what to put on the form beforehand via my email request. While you do NOT HAVE to have the code, if you don’t you need to step out of line to fill out the paper form. Unfortunately we landed at the same time as several other flights and it was a gigantic long line that moved but would not want any more delay that we could avoid. Also some of our tour companions arrived earlier than just one day and the concierge, hotel staff at the Shangra-La helped them secure a private guide, or tickets to an attraction that was not on our tour. You will be well guided by Tauck or the hotel staff if you let them know what it is you require. Enjoy your trip!

  • Ellen, your the best! Thanks so much for all the good advise and information.

  • We left on Japan Airlines from Itami Arpt, Osaka to Narita. Tauck person (nice lady) met us at Itami.
