Blue Danube Westbound 7/27/17 Dress Code for Dinners?

Wondering what the dress code is on the ship and for the private dinner/concerts?

  • It's stated in the What to Pack tab under the Before You Go tab for your tour, "Your journey also includes one or two special occasion dinners, where a sport coat and tie for gentlemen and a dress/pantsuit for ladies are suggested. (Your Tauck Director will advise you prior to those evenings.)"

Plus the gazillion threads on this issue including today's discussion for the French Waterways.

"Suggested" means you are encouraged to dress this way but won't actually be barred from attending if not. Each tour group has it's own comfort level with dressing up - you could be the only jacket wearer or the only one without one.

  • This trip has 4 fairly fancy dinners, one in Budapest, one in Vienna, one on board, and one in Prague. The one in Vienna was the dressiest. Men should bring along a sport coat for sure; tie is optional, but many men on our trip wore one. No one wore a suit. Ladies can wear dressy pants or skirt/dress. I had one pair of dressy black pants with a couple of different tops/scarves to rotate.
