"smart casual"

The advance Tauck materials mentioned a couple of occasions where "smart casual" dress was preferred (not mandatory), including sport coat for gentlemen. This understated the need for dressier garments. Most of our dinners were in the "smart casual" realm, and we were caught short in the wardrobe department. Oh well. We weren't kicked out of the group as a result! LOL

Comments

  • Perhaps you happened to be with a group that was more smart casual than usual
  • Every tour group has its own dress code "ethos". Very hard to predict. If you're going to feel very self conscious then play it safe and bring dressy. If it doesn't bother you and the pretrip guidance doesnt mandate it, go more casual. I've never seen anyone denied entry or left unfed.
