Vaccinations for Tanzania and Kenya

We are booked for the August 11, 2018 departure of the "Classic Safari" tour. I understand vaccination verification is required for border crossing. Other than checking the website for the CDC and/or WHO, how have others who have taken this trip handled this matter?
Thank you,
Jkress

  • CDC to get an idea, then travel doctor. Each person is different (medical history, physiology, age) so it is best to see a doctor who specializes in travel and can evaluate your health and needs and regional requirements.
  • They checked our Y/F vaccination (with the yellow vac. card) at the Kenya border crossing... very informal "check".. didn't;t read the card, but only checked that we had it in our hands.. I got my vac. at the local Giant food store Pharmacy. Also got the Tdap.. and malaria pills. Already had Hep A/B vaccination.
  • Hi just a note, the Yellow fever check may be cursory if you have the card, but if you don't then they may insist on you having the shot there and then. Definitely get it done at home! otherwise Hep A and B, Typhoid, TB if you can and tetanus boosters are recommended.
