Any experience with crime or safety issues? I noticed on the State Department website multiple warnings and concerns regarding travel to Kenya and Tanzania

No one in our group had any problems and I have never heard of anyone else having a problem. You will be in 'the Tauck bubble' for most of the trip and not really near any populated areas except in Nairobi where you don't leave the hotel and at the airport on your way home.

It is the independent traveler/hiker/backpacker who is more likely to be a victim of crime. That is one of the major advantages to traveling within a group, safety in numbers with experienced tour director and local driver guides. .
