Suggestions for extra day in Budapest?
My husband and I are on the 9/15 Imperial Europe trip, and we're arriving a day early in Budapest. Any suggestions for things to do that are not already on the itinerary? I read through a similar post from 2013, but I'm not sure if the itinerary has changed. Thanks!

Not sure of your itinerary but here's what we did before our cruise
First day walked over to St Stephens Basilica, visited the Memories of Hungary gift shop and had dinner at a place nearby.
Took a full day viator private tour of the Danube Bend - an old castle to tour, another church, great lunch in a small village and boat ride back to Budapest.
Next day ride the number 2 team up to the parliament then back down to the Great Market hall. Lots of food shopping downstairs and touristy gifts up. Worth it for the architecture as it was designed by Eiffel ( yes the same as the tower), age lunch nearby then walked to the Great Synagogue for a tour. Very interesting.
Buda hill, Fisherman's bastion and the Mathias church were included in our tour. The views from the bastion are not to be missed.
Lots of people take Parliament tours. We thought they were pricy and you really need to book ahead.
Thank you, Claudia. We got a note from our tour director yesterday, with a lot of helpful information. For future travelers, our tour includes Fishermen's Bastion, the Dohany Synagogue, Heroes Square, Andrassy Blvd and Millennium Park. I love trains, so I think we will take the tram up to Parliament as you suggest, and maybe book a tour there from home.
The inside of the parliament is amazing. Tours book up quickly and you need to book a tour in English. The security is like at an airport.
Westportia, ask at your hotels front desk or concierge where to get tram tickets. We were at the Intercontinental and got ours from a gift shop located within the hotel.
