Vancouver to Chicago to Pittsburgh
We are scheduled to take the Alaskan Inside Passage Cruise on Aug. 17. Our return flight on American from Vancouver to Chicago to Pittsburgh has been changed. We have a 50-minute connection time from Chicago to Pittsburgh. I can't believe that is even possible. Since we are coming from Canada into the US, will we have to go through the usual Immigration/Customs/Retrieve our baggage/Recheck our baggage procedure?

There are often US immigration/customs on the origin end in places where Americans frequently travel. For example, the Bahamas. In that case, the flight lands at a domestic terminal. I wouldn't be surprised if that is the case for Vancouver. Suggest you call and ask the airline.
You will go through immigration/customs in Canada and be precleared for entry into the US.
We have traversed through customs/immigration in both Vancouver and Toronto and have found them to be more efficient than in the U.S.
That being said, loves2travel2 should have no problem with a fifty (50) minute connection time...as long as the plane lands on-time.
You will clear customs in Vancouver, we just did that!
Thank you so much for the information.
