Wow, brings back many memories of our visits to France so long ago now, we used to vacation there every year at the beginning of July for two to three weeks when our children were younger. The countryside is my favorite and the chateaux.
It was a great trip. We have been to France several times. But this was our first time to Paris....and our first time to Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
One observation....the taxi drivers in Paris would not take a charge card. They only accepted Euros. We were told there is some kind of conflict going on.
Those mussels! And you made it up to Montmartre on the little trolley! I have some questions, but I'll wait until you have posted the rest of your great photos.
The mussels were great. We haven't eaten any since our last trip to French St. Martin in 2017. Montmartre was a lovely place. There were lots of people. Our trip was in between the Olympics and the Paralympics....so there were many things blocked off and there was quite a crowd. We were told that most Parisians vacation at the beach the month of August...so the people we were seeing were tourists. I am finished posting unless there are questions or requests.
Happy Belated Birthday to Steve. I love how you two have color-coordinated wardrobes.
How did you enjoy the InterContinental in Paris and your dinner in its restaurant? And Fouquet's?
Question from my husband...he lost a hat on a windy day when at the ranch in Camargue. He's convinced there is still a bull wearing it. Did you by chance see it?
Welcome home and thank you for sharing your adventure.
Lovely pictures and commentary. A great experience and it shows. :-) Being single, I have never had a camera on any of the Tauck tours I have taken and just have the good memories (any less than good ones, there were none. I just forget about them). :-) Regarding the Intercontinental in Paris, in 1985 I was on a small 19 day "wine & dine" (not Tauck) tour of France, led by a wine club lady in NYC (she was American and her husband a French importer in NYC); in Paris, we stayed at the famous Crillon Hotel (gorgeous but not up to modern standards inside then) and her husband, the Frenchman, stayed at the Intercontinental as it was modern and uptodate, his choice. LOL.:-)
Cathy: Thanks so much for posting your pics and comments. Looks like it was a very jam packed active tour. I just love how you and Steve coordinate your outfits.

Thank you KFN.
The intercontinental le Grand was a beautiful hotel. The room was very nice. The restaurant, Le cafe de la Paix was very nice.
We did find everything on this trip was quite expensive....a typical glass of house wine was 18 euros.
Brings back more memories. Thanks.
