Great Migration Tanzania/Kenya
I have heard this trip described as intense. Also that the roads are rough on the body. Would love comments on either of these statements.

Intense? In what way?- exciting, interesting, breath taking, getting up close to animals normally just seen in zoos- yes. Intense as in riding a roller coaster, sky diving, being a matador in a bull fight- no.
During game drives your safari vehicles often travel on rough, unimproved, dirt roads. You may rock, roll and bounce a bit, but whether that will be rough on your body, only you know. Those with severe back or other major skeletal problems should probably avoid this tour.
There are many discussions of these very topics on the forums- check out the archives at the right of this page or do a search.
We took this tour in 2018 and were 71 and 81. We were fine and in awe of everything we saw and did. There is almost no walking, but there are long early days with rides in comfortable vehicles over some very bumpy roads. The thrill of seeing animals up close in their natural environment cannot be compared to anything else you may have ever done. Yes, there are many vaccines to take, you can and should get an exemption for the yellow fever vaccines, but it is all worth it..
Depending on where you are traveling from it might be a good idea to arrive 1-2 days early and/or plan your flight from the US with an overnight stopover. We flew from San Francisco to Amsterdam and used Marriott miles for an overnight there. We arrived into Amsterdam early in the morning, checked in to our hotel and then had an entire day to explore that wonderful city. After a good night's sleep we arrived in Arusha refreshed and ready to explore for one day on our own before the Tauck trip started. We hired a private guide who took us the Arusha National Park for a great introduction to the Tauck safaris which would follow.
Go and have a wonderful trip.
