Dubrovnik, Croatia Hotel ?
Does anyone have a hotel recommendation for Dubrovnik, Croatia other than the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik (which is sold out). We would like to arrive a few days before the start of our tour.
Any input would be appreciated.
Thank you!

We had the similar situation. We had reserved our GOT for Dubrovnik but we ended up arriving 2 days prior to the trip because of the airfare prices so we needed another hotel night in Dubrovnik. We ended up booking Sheraton Dubrovnik Riviera Hotel. This hotel has a beautiful outdoor pool and gardens and is situated on the beach (albeit a pebble beach). Sounds like a great vacation before the trip! Even though we booked this on our own, TAUCK will transport us from the airport to this hotel but we will be responsible for getting to the Hilton Imperial for our GOT
Did you ask Tauck whether they could book the Hilton for those nights? Tauck reserves extra nights before (and after) the tour begins in case travelers want them to book the nights. So, they would be shown as "sold out" on the Hilton website until Tauck releases the tickets that their travelers don't want to book. (If Tauck books the rooms for you, the cost is usually higher than you can find on the hotel website, but their cost includes breakfast and tips to the hotel servers and porters. And then you have to factor in the cost of getting from another hotel to the Tauck hotel to start the tour -- and the hassle factor.)
When we went there, Tauck put us in the Hotel Excelsior, which was a very nice hotel and within easy walking distance of the old city.

You can see a couple of pictures of it on our blog, about half way down - https://www.mikeandjudytravel.com/2019-2Adriatic-01.htm
[Oops, I just checked the Hotel Excelsior on the Internet. It's a bit expensive.]
The Pucić Palace was such a lovely hotel right in old town next to the Gundulić Square and close to the Cathedral. I only stayed there briefly after a business trip. I just checked and it is still in operation, but I can't speak to the room rates since I wasn't paying the bill. I do remember the bustling markets in the square and surrounding eateries.
Boutique Hotel Stari Grad, I have been in Dubrov. 2 times, last one at this boutique hotel, location its great, lovely service, rooms are good size and impeccable.

MCD-Tauck told me the added night I wanted was unavailable. Hotel totally booked. And I checked directly with the hotel (and some consolarators) and was told the same thing.
