Visa

Very disappointed with Tauck Visa information. Tauck Journey Department was no help. I had to go to an outside company that was a big ripoff. They charged my Amex 1400.00 for a $330.00 charge. They did credit my card after much stress and many phone calls. To top it all off when we got to Tanzania people lined up to get a Visa there for $50.00. What a rip off. Tauck needs to do better. Don't use Tauck for your Visa.

  • Jo, you were obviously not reading the information that Tauck provides. They make it very clear that you do not have to use their visa services. In addition, They give you a link to the correct Tanzania governing website to get an Evisa. We did this for our trip just a few months ago. In fact, as I understand it, Americans can no longer get visas on arrival. It’s only people from certain countries that can now do that. Also, you say they were lining up for $50 visas. The price for a Visa for a US citizen is $100. For some other countries, it is $50. So maybe they were not Americans in line. We also had the experienced of getting an Evisa for our daughter who is British for her trip and her’s was only $50, which of course caused the rest of us to joke at least she was cheap for this trip.
Maybe you went to one of the many bogus Tanzanian government websites.
