February Safari
What is weather and wildlife sightings on safari in February? I am considering South Africa: An Elegant Adventure during that time frame. I appreciate comments from those who have previously traveled on that tour during February. Thank-you!

Just noticed you haven't received any replies, wgibson2, so I will share what I learned from a friend who recommended that we visit in June or July. The summer months in SA (December-March) are hot and rainy in the eastern part of the country. So the foilage will be lush, making it more difficult to see the wildlife. Additionally, mosquitos will be a problem.
We visited in June -- late autumn -- and we thought the weather was perfect. It was dry season, so we didn't have rain. The temps were moderate during the day, although we did need jackets for the early morning safari drives. SO, if you have the flexibility, go during Kruger's dry season (June-September) for the best mix of weather, animal sightings and bug avoidance.
Debra - what was the water level like at Victoria Falls when you visited in June?
It turns out Wgibson hasn’t visited the forum for about six weeks anyway.
@Smiling Sam -- Sorry for the delayed response. The falls were amazing. Breathtaking. Plenty of water -- in fact, we needed our raincoats and rain hats for protection from the "rain" created by the force of the water. Here's a photo to give you an idea of what we experienced. (Tried to upload a video, but it didn't work.)
Debra - that's great about the water level and if you get that video thing figured out let me know. I've been down that path and failed myself. 😀
The best thing I've found is to put the video somewhere, maybe YouTube, and then post a link to it.
Debra - Here's one shot of the water during our visit. Mike - No You Tube for me.
Here's our visit to Victoria Falls. It includes a couple of videos of the falls. We were there at the end of March.

We got soaked from the mist. When we got back to the hotel, we put our clothes in for cleaning and they got them back to us the same day. I suppose they're accustomed to people coming back from the falls all wet.
@Smiling Sam - I host videos on my server, but have put a few on YouTube. Why do you not wish to use YouTube?
Mike - Why do you not wish to use YouTube?
A crazy decision of an ‘Old Geezer’, or so my daughter and grandkids say. No YouTube, no Insta, no TikTok, …
We’re going on South Africa Elegant Adventure in early April 2026.
