Exploring the Douro starting 4.16.25
We are on Tauck Exploring the Douro on 4.16.25 which ends the morning of 4.27.25. We have scheduled on 4.27.25 at 9:30 AM a four hour Jewish tour of Madrid, via Tours by Locals. The guide is Pepe. Would anyone like to share the tour and the cost with us? The total price of the tour is $405 plus $33 per person. So if there are four people on the tour it would be about $135 per person, if six people about $101 per person, etc. Anyone interested? Contact us at rsfishmanmd@aol.com.

Outrageous price, can’t you do this on your own?
You may get more responses if you post this on one of the many TAUCK Facebook pages - there are MANY more people on those pages than this one.
Also, if you download the FREE Rick Steves APP, he has many FREE walking tours of Madrid - his history walking tours of towns, cathedrals, etc are all excellent. We just used it all throughout Italy and plan to use it in France when we go with Tauck in May.
I personally think you can easily do this yourself, rsfishmanmd. What was once the Jewish center in the Lavapiés area of Madrid has few remnants of Jewish culture now. For the most concentrated amount of Jewish history in Madrid, the Prado Museum is the best place in my opinion. It would be beneficial though to have a docent-led tour, however.
A day trip to Toledo affords much more history; the oldest synagogue in Spain is also there. Christians, Jews and Muslims lived in harmony there for centuries. If you have pre-tour time, a visit to the Alfama district and its Jewish quarter in Lisbon is well worth it.
