Dinner on your own Paris

DOes anyone have a restaurant suggestion?

  • Given how large most Tauck meals are, when we're on our own we usually go cheap so probably not what you want. I'd recommend giving some idea of price range, do you want casual or fine dining, proximity to the hotel, etc.

You can also use google maps to search restaurants in an area like near your hotel or a particular sight. Most have websites with their menus listed so you can see if it sounds like something you want. Hint for Foreign websites - the EN button or British flag typically will translate the text to English.

  • We also feel that there is too much food on the tours and often just get a snack when we have to get meals on our own.Claudia gives some good tips.

  • We like visiting the markets and picking up a baguette, cheese, fruit and a bottle of wine. Find a park bench and have a little picnic...save the wine for relaxing at night in the hotel. On that note, we have had some lovely meals in Tauck hotels, either in the restaurant(s) or bar area. We also had a lovely meal at the InterContinental. If staying there, the Opera House also has a nice restaurant. No matter where you stay, you will certainly find a café close by. If celebrating a special event or simply enjoy fine dining, Guy Savoy was very memorable. Reservations are imperative, however.
