Take a domestic flight from Kansai Airport to Narita. I am sure the Tauck can make the air arrangment for a reasonable price. Not?! There are multiple flight hourly. There is also direct flights from Kansai to the U.S.

The train does not have a direct conncection to Narita. The train ride is long. Make sure you are fast enough to take the carry on with you before the door closes or climb flight of stairs during the train transit.

  • If you are going diretly home from Kyoto, fly. If spending time back in Tokyo (which I recommend), take the train.

Did you read old threads on this subject in the Japan subforum? This has been discussed many times.

  • I’ve said this before, but Tokyo is my least favorite part of Japan.

  • And I really like Tokyo.

The flight from Osaka to the West Coast is not cheap on United and Delta. She has to connect back to Florida.

She can easily ask for Gift of Time at one of the Tauck hotels at the Tokyo Station and find the area to connect to the Narita Express. She also should keep her eyes open to find the station exit at Terminal 1 from the Narita Express.

The connection with Narita Express from Terminal 3 to Terminal 1 is quite confusing. It is much easier to take the bus.

I am so surprised no one at Tauck recommended taking a domestic ANA or JAL shuttle from Kansai to Narita and pick up the international JAL and United flight to LAX or SFO, making her life easier and her purse lighter.
