Botswana, So. Africa, Zambia in May

Does anyone know what shoes I'll need at Camp Kalahari? Do I really need ankle boots or will sensible shoes and common sense be okay? Thanks!!

  • I have never worn ankle boots on my three other times in Africa, but either Merill,Landsend or LL Bean type suede name escapes me but rugged and waterproof and completely washable because they will get dirty. I always take two pairs. That is what I will be taking when I go on this tour later in the year. Let's face it. There is virtually no walking at all on the safari part of these journeys and it's possible it is less risky on the ankles than the cobbled streets of Europe.
