Kenya and Tanzania Tour on July 2 ?
Hello to our fellow travelers! I was wondering if anyone on the forum is going on the July 2 "Kenya and Tanzania: A Classic Safari" tour? My wife, Anne, and I are both retired educators. She was a middle school teacher (English and Special Needs) for 35 years. I was an educator for 40 years---spending 29 years teaching high school first and then middle and elementary school. I was also an elementary principal for 7 years and an interim principal for another 5 years. I am also a professional landscape photographer who also loves (of course) to photograph wildlife whenever I get a chance.
This is our first Tauck tour, but we have vacationed a great deal in the Caribbean and Europe via large and small cruise ship (Princess, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Holland America, Windstar, Crystal, Seabourn). We look forward to moving from an ocean voyage to a land tour, and we have good friends who have taken ten Tauck tours and have highly recommended Tauck to us.
We are both incredibly excited about visiting Kenya and Tanzania and especially going on safari. My wife is a HUGE animal-lover, as am I--but I am eager to feast my eyes (and my Nikon lenses) on all the beauty of Africa.
We hope to hear from some others who may be on this same tour. It will be great to get to meet you all!
Take care, and see you all very soon!
Mitch

I'm not on your trip. If you have read the forums you know that you'll want to take a lens that is at least 300mm. I was going to take two bodies so I didn't have to change lenses in the dust, but instead I bought a 16-300 zoom lens and glad I did. There were only a few instances where a lens with a longer focal length would have been nice.
