clothing and Vancouver activities

We are taking this trip in June. What is the dress like on this trip especially for dinners in the evening? Do the men need a jacket? What about on the train? Also any suggestions for activities in Vancouver outside of what Tauck covers would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Do you need a dress or slacks? On other Tauck trips people get dressed up at dinner Jacket ?

  • We just were on the Rocky Mountaineer and Canadian Rockies tour. Most people wore pretty casual clothing for dinner. A few wore nicer slacks or a dress for dinner. Not many men wore sports coats.

  • Sorry I don't know what Tauck covers but the Anthropology museum on the campus of University of BC is fantastic. You will need a taxi or Uber.

  • If not included and if you have sufficient time, Butchart Gardens makes for a lovely excursion.

    Stanley Park is another suggestion.

  • Butchart Gardens are in Victoria on Vancouver Island. Probably not something to do if you are staying in Vancouver.

Stanley Park is good. Also a walk along the waterfront is worthwhile.

  • On one of our Tauck tours we flew from Butchart Gardens in a float plane to Vancouver. I was also confused by the recommendation. The gardens however are excellent.

  • That’s why I specified ‘if you have sufficient time.’ You can take the ferry or fly.

  • For views of the water, mountains and skyline, there is also a paved path that surrounds Stanley Park. It is called The Seawall.

  • When I went to Vancouver years ago, I visited Stanley Park and went to the Vancouver aquarium which is in the park. Also, we took a city bus to the Capilano Suspension Bridge and Grouse Mountain. Love Vancouver! Enjoy!
